DESCRIPTION: Renovation of an occupied 134,190 sf facility on the Western Washington University campus. The building was originally constructed in 1943, and was enlarged in 1967 with a major addition. The work includes abatement, demolition, excavation, an addition in the core of the building, new vertical circulation, new interior construction, new architectural finishes, new ADA compliant restrooms, and replacement of mechanical and electrical systems. The work is phased to allow continuous faculty and student occupancy during construction. The project is anticipated to achieve a LEED silver certification.
